A walk through the countryside to camp where there was fire making and swings. Scroll down for photos.
Gorgeous sunny garden welcomed all Explorers. We had a little play and then we set off for our adventure. We had to get through low bushes to get to the open field. We got through safe and sound and refreshed ourselves with fruit, cheese and biscuits. Katie, Mac, Polly and Jemima learned to blow the grass blades. We carried on until we got to big wise climbing tree. Some people opted for a stream near by and waded in. Shortly after we spotted two birds of prey circling above our heads. We saw 3 fluffy ponies grazing in a field, they let us stroke them. On the way we collected some thistles and berries to make hedgehogs and mice. Finally we reached our base camp. There were already swings hanging from the trees. Toby was the first one to get on. Ben, James, Isaac and Hugo made their own fire. Isaac "We moved the leaves to crete a dry patch, we collected sticks, used news paper. It took us a few attempts to make the fire."
Kate, Katie, Jemima and Polly kept whizzing on the swings. hugo made a den, Ricco and Abbey sat round the fire, listing their sticks. Edward cut some walking sticks for us and we peeled them. Lenka showed jemima, Polly, Kate and Katie how to make thistle figures. We had home-made bread cooked on fire.
